Take a few minutes to explore my website by clicking on the various links and pages. How could a website be beneficial to your classroom environment and students? Could a website be beneficial to you as a teacher? What are some potential issues that could arise from having a website? How might you incorporate student blogging into an upcoming unit of instruction? What questions do you have about creating a class blog? Share your thoughts in the comments section below. I also encourage everyone to respond to the posts made by your colleagues. Are there any ideas that you have tried already? Share your experiences and advice to one another. Bonus points for anyone who provides an explanation to what PLC's are and how it connects to this activity.
In your groups, discuss what skills we have been introduced to so far this year in History class. After brainstorming, decide on one skill that you feel will be most important for you and your group members as you move forward to become active and contributing citizens in our society and community. Take into consideration the different paths students will take after high school. Whether it be college, the workplace, a vocational (trade) school, or the military. Some skills we have developed this year include sourcing, contextualization, corroboration, and using the TEES paragraph. When you respond, use your group number and period for your name.
I have created a new page on my website, titled, "Review!" Visit this page to begin reviewing for the Global Regents. There are many great resources made available to you and you can study completely on your own. My focus this year in class is to make you all better and more confident writers. I will teach you the skills necessary to become better writers, and what I need you to do, is to study the content/material outside of class. You all can master the Global Regents by putting in some extra work outside of class. I am very excited for this new part of my website and hope you are too! Of course any ideas, questions, or comments are encouraged, so please leave them below. What is the difference between science and religion? These two fields, at times, have come into conflict with one another. Along with answering the first portion of the question, also try to explain why there is sometimes conflict between science and religion.
A simple enough question, why absolutism? But in order to answer this question we must first understand what was happening in parts of Europe and Asia. To do this we will take a look at the social political, and economic climate of Eurasia during this period in the 1600's. Furthermore, one can not answer this question without an understanding of the term, Absolutism. These and more topics will be what we dive into this week in our real first unit of the year for Global II students. Godspeed to these students for they are taking their first steps towards the Global History & Geography Regents that awaits them in June. Ipsa scientia potestas est...Knowledge itself is power! |
